Mark Nilsson, Columbia River Gorge artist, lives and works in Hood River, Oregon. After pursuing art alongside other careers for many years, Nilsson committed to painting full-time in the mid-1990s. In 2026, he marks 30 years as a full-time professional artist creating from his home in Hood River. Working in oils, watercolor, and now primarily acrylic, Nilsson has become known for his bold use of color and his ability to capture the beauty and spirit of the Columbia Gorge and destinations around the world. His work spans paintings, murals, painted furniture, clothing, and illustration, reflecting a lifelong passion for creative expression.
